Logan’s Landscaping started in 2004 with a twelve year old and a push mower.

Peter Logan was homeschooled, and his father noticed he was finishing a week of assignments in about two days. He gave Peter two options for the spare time: work the toast station at a friend’s restaurant, or start mowing lawns. Peter lasted one day on toast.

At seventeen, his father, a full time pastor, handed him the truck and the rig and told him to make it or break it. Twenty two years later, Logan’s runs three divisions across central Pennsylvania, and Peter still quotes every hardscape job himself.

Local Expertise, Personalized Approach

Twenty two years in one region teaches you things a catalog cannot. We know how water moves across central Pennsylvania grades, what the freeze thaw cycle does to a base that was not compacted properly, and which plants survive a Lancaster County winter rather than just surviving the drive home from the nursery.

Peter has spent more than twenty years in the field himself. That is the reason we quote on the property and never over the phone. We have never seen a photograph that shows the grade, the access, or what is sitting under the topsoil.

Elevating Outdoor Living with Skill and Creativity

We do not hire foremen from outside the company. Every one of them started somewhere else in this business and was raised into the role here, which is how a Logan’s crew builds the same way whether Peter is standing on the site or not.

Our hardscape foreman has more than seventeen years in the field. Both of our landscape foremen are bonsai masters, so the person deciding where your plantings go actually understands what they will look like in ten years, not just on installation day.

What 2008 Taught Us About Pricing

We were in business through 2008. The lesson we took out of that year was simple: you cannot chase big price tags and stay afloat.

So we take the $2,500 install and we take the million dollar install. A maintenance visit starts at $80. A landscape job starts at $450. A paver patio starts at $2,500 and prices from roughly $30 per square foot depending on access, material, and grade. We would rather tell you on the phone that your project is under our minimum than send an estimator out to tell you in person.

Three Divisions, One Standard

Logan’s runs a hardscape division, a landscape division, and a maintenance division. They are separate crews with separate skills, and they work together on the properties that need all three. Hardscape travels up to two hours for the right project. Landscape works within about an hour of Middletown. Maintenance stays close to home, roughly thirty minutes out, which covers Hershey, Elizabethtown, Harrisburg, and Middletown.
